In order to ensure accurate integration of the Columbia Space Initiative Rockets team's hybrid rocket, we designed, built, and tested its recovery and electronics subsystems on a solid rocket “Olumbia,” which was deisgned to fit the hybrid subsytems that will be flown in the summer. We successfully launched in Maryland at the MDRA launch site in January.
The rocket reached ~1600ft (target 2kft) and was successfully recovered. The GPS, recovery, and payload subsystems are officially checked and ready for the 30kft hybrid rocket launch the team has been preparing for this summer.
